“We have a passion for creating your unique vision”
Stephen J. Schuster, President, Schuster Corporation and Schuster Homes has served the Southeastern Michigan & Northern Michigan custom residential market for over 17 years. His residential portfolio includes building luxury homes and renovations that showcase specialty finishes for pub and wine rooms, sophisticated libraries, gourmet kitchens and media rooms reflecting a client’s lifestyle and distinguished tastes. Steve’s portfolio also includes commercial project management experience with Turner Construction, an international fortune 500 company.
Steve began his construction career in the 1970’s on his father’s carpentry crew with Schuster Construction. As a carpenter he developed a passion for building and pursued his formal education at Michigan State University. In 1985, Steve obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Building and Construction Management. Upon graduation from Michigan State, Steve joined the corporate ranks as a superintendent/engineer for Turner Construction, gaining construction management experience on multi-million dollar projects. With Turner, Steve’s portfolio expanded to include building a prison complex, a water treatment and storage facility, a financial institution and several office tenant build outs.
In 1991, Steve’s entrepreneurial drive called him back to the residential building arena where he founded Schuster Homes, Inc., a second generation custom building company. Schuster Homes has completed over 150 residential and light commercial contracts since its inception. Schuster Homes was spotlighted in the Greater Detroit Edition of “The Builder’s Journal’ for his homes built within the prestigious, private gated community of Turtle Lake Estates in Bloomfield Hills.
As an entrepreneur, Steve believes in giving back to his community. Steve was an active mentor for many years as the sponsoring builder for the Oakland County Schools Vocational Trade Program. He was honored by Oakland Schools for his years of contribution to the trades program. Professionally, Steve is a current member of the Building Industry Association of Southeastern Michigan, Michigan Association of Builders, and National Association of Home Builders. Steve is certified as a Green Professional through NAHB and has experience with ‘green’ systems including geothermal & solar heating/cooling systems and superior insulation packages.
